The House Democrats' jump onto the electric car bandwagon after Senate Republicans' prior announcement is oddly reminiscent of Gov. Steve Beshear playing catch-up last month with Secretary of State Trey Grayson's spending transparency initiative.
Now if we could get them to try to get to step into the huddle on pension reform instead of doing an endzone dance on the fifty yard line, the competition in this marketplace of ideas would really get us someplace.

One would think that perhaps our Auditor of Public Accounts should be looking into making all government expenditures transparent. OR>>> perhaps, having been in the office since 2004, is long overdue in accomplishing such a task. At least she could have suggested it!!
If asked to make just her office an Expenditure Transparent Entity, I feel sure you would be given some political double talk and kindly escorted out of her sight and asked not to return!
Just a thought, if all government expenditures were made available to the public, not only would the "spenders" be exposed,so would the Auditor for allowing it to continue. Perhaps true political discrimination would come to light in this particular situation; those of my party are allowed to continue wasteful spending while those who are not, shall be prosecuted, guilty or not!
Transparency?
Kentucky has not collected state's usage and property taxes and Kentucky registration fees from all of Kentucky motor vehicle owners since 1985!
Sure would like to see somebody encourage Division of Vehicle Enforcement Officers of Justice Cabinet and property tax of Departmetn of Revenue of Finance Cabinet to implement statewide registration to catch these "outlaws" while initiating transparency of those taxpayers who have been getting by without paying their fair share of Kentucky usage and property taxes!
