Trig Palin's role in education

While media scavengers foam at the mouth about Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol, infant boy Trig may be the one of Gov. Palin's five children with the biggest impact on public policy.

Sen. John McCain is an advocate for school choice. And with Trig Palin being a special needs child, perhaps greater attention will be paid to the least controversial of school choice proposals: special needs scholarships to help handicapped children escape schools that are not well-equipped to teach them.

A couple of examples would be the successful special needs scholarship program in Georgia or the one that keeps getting quashed in Kentucky's House Education Committee.
