Kentucky's media outlets are going to have a field day with this.
A left-wing group called Citizens for Tax Justice today issued a state-by-state report in keeping with the Bailout Age. In it, they find that the bottom 60% of tax filers will get $518 from the House Democrats "stimulus" bill and only $278 from the Republican tax rate reduction plan.
A sufficient number of that 60% will get the message. Mob rule reigns.

This is an example of your loathing and detesting anything that smacks of fairness in taxation.
Alexander Hamilton's proportional tax is an American value that Republicans want no part of. In Federalist Paper 12, Hamilton wrote:
"The ability of a country to pay taxes must always be proportioned, in a great degree, to the quantity of money in circulation, and to the celerity with which it circulates. Commerce, contributing to both these objects, must of necessity render the payment of taxes easier, and facilitate the requisite supplies to the treasury."

have you read about 'the fair tax'? it is a proportional tax that a ton of conservatives support. In fact, it is pretty similar to some legislation that Bill Farmer has proposed (I would figure BGP would support both measures).
