Can't stop the outsourcing train

The new reality is inescapable: worldwide economic difficulties would have created more outsourcing of jobs anyway. Does anyone really think more massive federal bailouts, new laws to strengthen labor unions, new policies to limit free trade, higher taxes, and the specter of a growing social welfare system will do anything but accelerate the growth of this trend?

Take a few minutes to watch this eye-opening video and then try to make an argument for more big government saving us from our big government folly:

If we are not teaching our children entrepreneurial skills we are doing them a terrible disservice. At the very least, Kentucky should rethink policies that send employers running faster to Costa Rica and Philippines. Some of those policies are forced unionism, corporate welfare, and out-of-control government spending.

The video was a typical anti-American diatribe against the American economy.

It made the claim that outsourcing leads to "more, better paying jobs here." Nonsense. Republican, conservative economics of the past eight Bush years, and the financial mess we're now in is a strong refutation of that claim.

The video is an attack on American industry and wealth as well as a reduction of revenue. In Alexander Hamilton's 1791 report to Congress on manufactures, he wrote:

"But there is no truth, which may be more firmly relied upon, than that the interests of the revenue are promoted by whatever promotes an increase of national industry and wealth."

Outsourcing does not promote "an increase of national industry and wealth."

The video also attacks American workers. It gives the message that lower wages results in better performance of employees in contrast with higher paid American workers.

In typical Republican, conservative feudalistic, robber baron economics, it's workers and better wages, that produce wealth.

The video espouses the Republican, conservative philosophy:

Get all you can,
Can all you get.
Sit on the can,
And hoard the rest!

The video makes the bogus claim that by paying lower wages more money will be freed up to create more jobs. That doesn't happen. The money gets hoarded away. Money that doesn't circulate in the body politic, is like edema to the body. It's an unhealthy, life-threatening condition.

Alexander Hamilton wrote in Federalist Paper 30:

"Money is, with propriety, considered as the vital principle of the body politic; as that which sustains its life and motion, and enables it to perform its most essential functions. A complete power, therefore, to procure a regular and adequate supply of it, as far as the resources of the community will permit, may be regarded as an indispensable ingredient in every constitution. From a deficiency in this particular, one of two evils must ensue; either the people must be subjected to continual plunder, as a substitute for a more eligible mode of supplying the public wants, or the government must sink into a fatal atrophy, and, in a short course of time, perish."
