Beshear's mysterious five day delay

Gov. Steve Beshear promised to run government differently, openly, more transparently, many times. He has promised to save taxpayers up to $180 million a year by being more efficient.

Follow-through has been a problem.

We're still waiting for the missing efficiency study and the much-needed $180 million. And now we have learned from the Governor's office that launching of the government spending transparency web site he talked about so much has been delayed until Tuesday, January 6.

No reason was given for the continuing delay.

I am so tired of you so called conservitives whining about Democrats! This country has almost been run into the ground by Bush, where is your outrage? Ernie Fletcher with his good old boy network did nothing for Kentucky where is your outrage? Please just stop! You people have proven that the Republicans and the so called conservitves have done nothing for this country or this state except put us more in debt, hated around the world and weaker!

11:17,

Do you think Governor Beshear's official response should be that it is Ernie Fletcher's fault?

as if govs Patton and Jones didn't have a "good old boy network"?

I think Beshears "good ole boy network is better than all the others.

Look at Adam Edelens friends and the jobs they have. He has certainly followed the standard set by the previous administration.

We pay top dollar so the non merit hires can learn on the job. What I can't figure out is why they say they know nothing about what they are hired to do.

Must be arrogance .. or stupidity!

Republicans/conservatives/wing-nuts, can't come up with any new ideas other than to tear down what's worked in the past.

They believe that government's job is the protect the license to steal for the wealthy, while the victims have no recourse. It's Republican/conservative/wing-nut economics that has gotten us in the current financial mess. Fletcher was nothing but a religious-right wing-nut. He was clueless about how to govern. Revenue neutral? Whoever heard of such nonsense?

Now if Gov. Beshear and the Kentucky General Assembly want to really save some money without raising taxes, all they have to do is pardon all non-violent marijuana users. That costs the state $270 million a year.

Then there's this corporate welfare giveaway to Toyota of Georgetown--$371 million since 1981. That's about $14 million a year.

If Kentucky politicians weren't so hostile to American values, they would heed Alexander Hamilton's advice written in his 1791 report to Congress on manufactures. Of hemp he wrote:

"This is an article of importance enough to warrant the employment of extraordinary means in its favor."

Republicans/conservatives/wing-nuts won't touch it. Creating thousands of high-paying agriculture jobs is not in their agenda. Too, even more thousands of high-tech "green" jobs would be created. That's because over 50,000 products can be made from hemp. Not only would Kentucky's agriculture economy improve, but a new manufacturing base would be established in Kentucky--based on hemp products.

That would bring in a lot of better educated high-tech workers who'd tend to be Democratic, thus turning Kentucky into a blue state instead of the self-immolating red state that it now is.

Wing-nut/Republican/conservatives would not be happy to see that.

They'd rather tear down than build up.

I am not only tired of Beshear's five day delay. I am also pissed because they are dragging their feet in Frankfort taking Jon Draud's car away which should've been put on eBay the middle of December. It is now January 2009, and he is retiring February, 2009. WHY ARE WE CONTINUING TO PAY FOR HIS GAS and WHERE IS the $13,697 difference he owes the TAXPAYERS for that fine new Chrysler 300?

WHO WOULDN'T HATE KENTUCKY...change "Inbridled Spirit" to "Lies in Frankfort"!!!
