Big government follows Amway pattern

President Barack Obama now wants to set up house meetings across the country to sell bad fiscal policy the way some people sell soap and vitamins. And Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine appears to be very near the top of the pyramid.

Should we expect Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear to be knocking on the door any minute now?

I'm not criticizing the tactic as a political move, because it is surely a good one. But wouldn't we be doing more to generate an actual economic recovery if we were getting neighbors together to really generate economic activity, such as one might do in a real direct selling organization, rather than trying to "connect the recovery plan to their lives?"

It seems Pres. Obama's rhetoric about getting lobbyist control out of Washington D.C. really meant he just wanted to turn everyone into a lobbyist.
