Been Fooled by Federal Testing (NAEP) Data?

– Maybe!

More and more, people in Kentucky are being bombarded by all sorts of claims about Kentucky’s educational progress in the federal testing program known as the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).

Unfortunately, a lot of those reports are based on simplistic analysis of NAEP scores, analysis that ignores (to the point of not even mentioning) a number of key validity issues that undermine conclusions that come from such simplistic analysis.

Now, a new item in the Bluegrass Institute’s Wiki site starts to peel back the onion of NAEP testing. It includes a section on “Pitfalls” in NAEP analysis that should be required reading before anyone writes another report based on these scores.

See for yourself what too many “researchers” in this state and around the nation are consistently failing to tell you by clicking here.
