Oppressive health care bill steals Kentuckians' liberty

Michael Tanner, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, has been analyzing the health care bills in detail. Yes, he reads, analyzes and reports.

He states claims that the 1,994-page bill that passed the house last week is not a government takeover are false:

- The bill uses the command “shall” 3,345 times as in ‘you shall” or “businesses shall”.

- The bill creates 111 government agencies, boards, commissions and other bureaucracies – all overseen by a new health-care czar.

Now come on. Those two points scream takeover.

Mr. Tanner’s article in the New York Post should be a wakeup call to all freedom-loving Kentuckians to scream ‘NO’ to anyone promoting anything close to this bill.

Why are Kentucky’s elected state officials silent? Not politically correct to stand up for freedom and liberty if it might jeopardize federal handouts?

‘NO!’
