Survey says...stimulus didn't help.

CNN recently reported on a survey of economists who said that the "stimulus" funding didn't promote job growth.

Is this really news?

You can't create jobs by taking money and giving it back.  It's pretty simple, really.

Once again, and as usual, you're arguing against American values. As Alexander Hamilton wrote in his 1791 report to Congress on manufactures:

In countries where there is great private wealth, much may be effected by the voluntary contributions of patriotic individuals; but in a community situated like that of the United States, the public purse must supply the deficiency of private resource. In what can it be so useful, as in prompting and improving the efforts of industry?

Hamilton also wrote in Federalist Paper 30:

Money is, with propriety, considered as the vital principle of the body politic; as that which sustains its life and motion, and enables it to perform its most essential functions.

The circulation of money is as vital to the body politic as the circulation of blood is to the body.
