USSR's economy and USA's schools: More freedom, not more money, was/is the answer

What do America's public schools and the former Soviet Union's economy have in common? They're both "failed systems," said Indiana University Southeast economics professor Eric Schansberg, Ph.D.

Check out this brilliant analogy by Schansberg at the Bluegrass Institute's Friedman Legacy Day breakfast on Friday at the University of Louisville's Elaine Chao auditorium.

Schansberg makes the point that just as throwing more money at the Soviet Union would not have solved that crumbling society's problems, so throwing more money at public schools will not do so, either. What's needed instead: more liberty.
