Blaming/punishing parents still doesn't address the fundamental issue - We have a system that is dominate by the interests of adults, not a child's education.

You raise a good point. In too many ways, in too many parts of Kentucky, school systems are more responsive to "Adult Issues" than to the needs of the students.

Example: Parents are not to blame for too many inexperienced teachers being placed in the Persistently Low-Achieving Schools in Jefferson County. That was the result of a school "Adult" deal between the teachers' union and the district office, which the Kentucky Office of Education Accountability says may have violated the law.

Here's a good question: when was the last time parents, not the coach, got blamed when a team did poorly?

Great point, Richard. Usually, the parents are yelling at the coach.
