GOP gubernatorial candidate debate tonight

This evening's edition of 'Kentucky Tonight' on KET features the three GOP candidates. The show starts at 8pm. This is sure to be an interesting discussion. I believe this is the first time all three Republican candidates have been gathered together.

In a previous edition of the show the candidates for Lt. Governor were gathered together.  You can view that here.

KY's $1.9 BILLION G.F. budget cuts of estimated $1.2 BILLION can be achieved from COLLECTING estimated $300 million motor vehicle car owners tax evasion; reduce appropriations further by eliminating 2,000 non-merit pay positions making $100,000 or more annually; (In 1996 there only were 600 non-merit paid position and now there are over 12,650). ADD more cuts by reducing $900 million state tax expenditures by $350 million adding $400 million cuts to corporate tax shelters; downsizing number of PVA & Superintendent positions from 120 and 174 to 17 regions, respectively, would save $40 million annually; placing "new" state employees in defined contribution pension plans and relieving state budget by legislature giving local tax option to locals. Enhance state tax resources passing a consensus tax reform package from Farmer/Wayne tax reform bill legislation.
