Quote of the day: Even government at its best

“Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil." --Thomas Paine

Why didn’t you finish reading Paine’s comment? He concluded: “security being the true design and end of government, it unanswerably follows that whatever form thereof appears most likely to ensure it to us, with the least expense and greatest benefit, is preferable to all others.”

You’re up to your usual tricks of deceiving readers to advance your Ayn Rand atheistic ideology that government and state should be separate and that selfishness is a virtue.

Those values are at odds with the Abrahamic covenant and its main theme that it in our mutual interest to work for the good of all, or the common good. This is the value that underlies the Constitution, which value you reject.

Also, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison wrote that if men were angels there would be no need of government. (Federalist Paper 51)
